Central to the service Compaan Design offers is the observation that there are many algorithms and applications that need acceleration. The general concept of acceleration is visualized in the figure below. It shows on the left a software application written in C code that needs to be accelerated. The areas of interest in this code are the HotSpots, which consume a lot more compute power compared to other parts in the software. The HotSpot areas should be replaced with accelerators that run much faster than the original code. As a result, the execution of the complete compute code takes less time and the acceleration is effective. Compaan Design delivers the complete solution of defining the accelerators and integrating the accelerators in both hardware and software in the complete compute system.
